Legendary judge, Denton County character dies
A legend in Denton County jurisprudence died Saturday. J. Ray Martin, who was a County Court at Law judge from 1970 to 1986, was 91 years old. “He was eccentric,” said lawyer Bill Trantham, who worked with Martin both as a prosecutor and a defense attorney. “My gosh, he was a character.”
